Olive Growers Big problem

Finally, we harvested our olive crop. This year a little earlier. Only one harvest this year opposed to two harvests last year. We expected a good crop until we had a freeze that hurt  most of the olive blossoms or buds. We were lucky to have something this year.

OLIVE OIL grower's ; less olives this year

Oh my! less olives this year. More tree growth instead. Olive trees alternate years, and sometimes almost none at all. I am an olive farmer. We have young olive trees Tuscan varietals. I expected a good crop this year. Well it is not happening.

Sold out at the Paso Robles Olive Festival

My wife and i waited for this date to sell the last of our olive oil.After receiving two silver medals, that set us off. Down to the last drop. It happened in less than 3 hours. Oh  my, the tasters gave us thumbs up and put their names on our mailing list for the next crop.

Mid State Fair 4p.m. did my time

Why do  you need to buy my olive oil? Four p.m. arrived and we were set up and ready to do our presentation.The seats were filling up and by looking at the audience I thought I could play with them. Some people couldn't look me in the eye.

Tomorrow at 4p.m. I am doing a presentation of my  award winning olive oil.The Mid State Fair is hugh , all I can bring with me is one dozen bottles of oil to taste and sell. We are almost sold out of our product. Good EVO sells real fast.

Something big happened in my life a few days ago. We are olive growers. Had our first  olive crop this past year. The olive oil is a Tuscan Varietal, or blend. Very delicate in flavor, got us a Silver Medal. This is a big wow! L.A. Olive Competition is a biggie.

It's raining on my olive blossoms

In a recent article I mentioned the fact that I would be planting more olive trees on my farm. 700 to be exact. I started drilling tree holes for the next 140  trees arriving next week. What a deal. Drilling on a hillside. It is a long way down.

mommy and daddy bird part 4

A few days ago the mommy bird  had three little tweets to tend for. Again I went to the nest and she let me touch  her beak.I whistle to her every time I pass her nest which is at eye level. I sometimes see the nest empty with no parent guarding the tweets.

It was a very exciting day. I could see the mommy bird in her nest. She has a long beak and a watchful eye. I whistled to her and got her attention. i moved very slowly toward her not to frighten her. She let me touch her beak. It was so cool. I moved in such a careful manor.

Well the birds have finished their nest. Just about 2 1/2 weeks flying in and out of the vines making sure the nest was strong enough and cozy enough to handle  the mother and her eggs.
